This
VERY kind posting on TANET reached me on Jan 15 99 via my U.S. distributor
Leo Massi. I am permitted to use the full name and so I do. I would
never dare to say some of the statements quoted but I am really happy
to have customers being satisfied to such an extent!
Hi,
Just got a black cube....and wanted to pass along my impressions....you're
welcome to use this in anyway at all....I'm just so pleased with it..here
follows the posting I made at TANET, the audiophile network just yesterday:
Topic: Lehmann Black Cube Phono preamp (1 of 1), Read 1 times

hey gang, Had to post to tell you of the latest update in my system,
the Lehmann black cube phono stage. Listen to me, because I've been
doing this for a long time now, and I've never gotten this excited about
an audio product before....this thing is incredible.
It's ugly as hell....no "cool" factor here, but it's cheap (relatively),
unbelievably flexible and the sound??!!?? You won't (and I mean WILL
NOT) believe it! :-)
I've never been a big fan of outboard phono pre-amps....you know, another
set of interconnects to worry about, synergy issues, etc....and in fairness,
I think this cube deserves a nice interconnect to attach to your line
stage, but I've had a number of full function preamps on test here including
the well regarded CAT, ARC stuff, C-J stuff and my own Rowland.....this
thing absolutely kills them all. Bad recordings sound good, good recordings
excellent and audiophile pressings....well....they're a freakin' revelation!!
Offhand, I'd say this box is equivalent to a $2000 tonearm and $3000
cartridge upgrade COMBINED!
I don't want to continue on (I could write all night) and will respond
to anyone about this ( I have no stake), but get one and pass it around
to your audiobuds... particularily if they're vinyl junkies like me....my
bet is that you all will have to have your own.
If you can't find a dealer, I know one ... (and I think he'll even take
something off the retail <$698> price).
My system of reference:
Linn LP-12 (Valhalla/Ittok/Arkiv)
JRDG Coherence One
Jadis Defy-7 Mk.III
Audio Physic Virgo
Transparent Ultra (pre-amp to Amp and speaker cable)
Van den Hul "the first" (black cube to pre-amp)
Power wedge 116
All the best,
Dan
